The Gunnison County Library District presents an evening program on the magnificent Colorado Trail. Join author Bill Cooke whose book, Shades of Gray, Splashes of Color narrates his 38 day, 482 mile hike of this scenic trail. Bill's program consists of information about the trail, the hike, and a selection of color slides from his adventure. Hear about the challenges of acclimation, steep ascents, freezing mornings, hot afternoons, near-daily thunderstorms, and areas of scarce water. Experience the rewards of gorgeous colorful alpine meadows, sweeping vistas of the Rockies, refreshing cool air, stately evergreens, enchanting aspen forests, and all that the Colorado Trail offers.
