In an impressive creative leap, she further interlaces exotic rhythmic concepts from her recent studies in India with seventh-generation master violinist Kala Ramnath. Phoebe’s soulful, plaintive voice organically breathes these seemingly disparate elements in raw and vulnerable songs of an entangled ego, the nature of forgiveness, and the quiet exhalation of ritualizing the everyday. Her own non-profit, Fuel Our Fire, spurs collaborative projects focusing on the healing nature of music such as recent album Songs for Standing Rock and projects such as Soldier Songs & Voices. Along with her stop in Crested Butte, Phoebe’s summer appearances include the Strawberry Music Festival, Pagosa Folk & Bluegrass Festival and RockyGrass. Phoebe’s songs are brought to life by The Gatherers: Roy Williams (guitar), Dominick Leslie (mandolin), Sam Reider (piano / accordion), Nick Falk (drums) and Jared Engel / Dave Speranza (upright bass).
