David Grisman Bluegrass Experience
The Center for the Arts is proud to announce the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience coming this summer, Friday, June 24. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 1.
For nearly half a century, mandolinist / composer / bandleader / producer David Grisman has been a guiding force in the evolving world of acoustic music. A pioneer and innovator, David forged a unique personal artistic path, skillfully combining elements of the great American musical art forms – jazz and bluegrass mixed with many international flavors and sensibilities to create his own distinctive idiom – “Dawg” music (the nickname given him by Jerry Garcia). His discography is filled with notables including Jerry Garcia (with whom he created Old & in the Way), the Grateful Dead, John Hartford, Del McCoury, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, Earl Scruggs, James Taylor and Doc Watson. Five of his prolific recordings have been Grammy-nominated. The David Grisman Bluegrass Experience includes Keith Little (5-string banjo, guitar and vocals), Jim Nunally (guitar and vocals), Chad Manning (fiddle), Samson Grisman (bass), and with David on mandolin and vocals.
Early Bird tickets are available through June 17 for $60. Regular tickets after that are $70. VIP tickets for $125 are available and include includes early entry, two free drinks, and a meet and greet with the artists after the show. All tickets may be purchased at www.crestedbuttearts.org
