Crested Butte Plein Air Invitational

The Crested Butte Plein Air Invitational is a pure landscape painting event, designed for artists from far and wide to come and ?Paint Paradise?. The event boasts 25 nationally acclaimed Invited artists, an additional ten, high-caliber Jury Class artists, and an unlimited number of Open Class artists, to make for a wonderful mix of talents showcasing the natural beauty of Crested Butte, Colorado. Artists have opportunities to paint together and learn from one another while working in the stunning landscape, on the trails and in town. During a month-long painting period, from June 10 to July 10, we?ll offer painting excursions, workshops, and gatherings, to include a series of art lectures, featuring historic and contemporary landscape painting. The Invitational will culminate in a set of exhibition openings including: A Patrons Preview, a ticketed gala and art sale on Friday, July 11th at 5pm, and a Grand Opening of the Exhibition, free and open to the public on Saturday, July 12th at Noon. Please join us at the Oh-Be-Joyful Gallery on 3rd Street in Historic Downtown Crested Butte, as well as on the street in front of the gallery where the walls of a temporary tent gallery space will be adorned with fresh paintings for all to see.
